Śrāddhadeva is Vaivasvata Manu, the Manu of the current manvantara, from whom major royal dynasties are described in Canto 9.
Śukadeva is speaking to King Parīkṣit, a descendant of Bharata’s line, and uses 'Bhārata' as a respectful dynastic address while narrating ancestral history.
It highlights the Bhagavatam’s emphasis on self-control and responsibility in family and leadership—qualities that sustain dharma across generations.
