Sukta 1

प्र यदेते प्रतरं पूर्व्यं गुः सदःसद आतिष्ठन्तो अजुर्यम्। कविः शुषस्य मातरा रिहाणे जाम्यै धुर्यं पतिमेरयेथाम्

prá yád eté prataráṃ pū́rvyaṃ gúḥ sádaḥ-sada ā́tiṣṭhanto ajúryam | kavíḥ śúṣasya mātárā rihāṇé jāmyaí dhuryáṃ pátim érayeथām |

When these went forth, more forward, in the ancient way, taking their stand from seat to seat upon the undecaying—(then) the Seer: the two Mothers, licking the young, should impel for the kinsman the lord fit for the yoke.

当这些依古道更向前行,立足于那不朽者之上,从座至座而安住之时——先见者啊:两位母亲舔舐幼子,应为同族之人催发那位堪受轭的主宰,使之奋起。
