Sage Parāśara (narrating) to Maitreya
Concept: Single-minded worship of Viṣṇu, even amid loss, is presented as efficacious and worthy of divine response.
Vedantic Theme: Dharma
Application: Sustain a regular practice of prayer/archana during grief, offering one’s situation to the Lord rather than abandoning sādhanā.
Vishishtadvaita: Devotion is directed to a personal Lord who is accessible to the jīva and responds to sincere surrender (śeṣa–śeṣi relation).
Vishnu Form: Hari
Bhakti Type: Shanta
It highlights Viṣṇu as the ultimate giver of grace and continuity—both spiritual and dynastic—showing that bhakti can restore order and hope even in personal and royal crisis.
Parāśara presents bhakti not as separate from history but as its hidden engine—kingship, lineage, and stability are sustained when rulers and their households align with Viṣṇu through devotion.
Viṣṇu appears as the supreme sovereign and refuge: when worldly supports (like a husband/king) fall away, devotion to Viṣṇu remains efficacious and spiritually central.
