ध्रुवस्य तपः — देवमायाविघ्नाः, विष्णोर्दर्शनम्, स्तुतिः, ध्रुवस्थानप्रदानम्
भगवन् यदि मे तोषं तपसा परमं गतः स्तोतुं तद् अहम् इच्छामि वरम् एनं प्रयच्छ मे
bhagavan yadi me toṣaṃ tapasā paramaṃ gataḥ stotuṃ tad aham icchāmi varam enaṃ prayaccha me
Lạy Đấng Bhagavan, nếu nhờ khổ hạnh mà con thật sự đạt được sự hài lòng tối thượng của Ngài, thì con khát khao được tán dương Ngài; xin ban cho con ân huệ ấy.
Dhruva (addressing Lord Vishnu)
This verse frames praise (stotra) itself as a divine gift—showing that devotion is not merely human effort but arises through Vishnu’s grace when tapas matures into bhakti.
Dhruva implies that austerity culminates in the Lord’s satisfaction, but the highest outcome is not power or wealth—rather, receiving the capacity and permission to glorify Vishnu.
Vishnu is addressed as Bhagavan—the supreme personal reality—whose pleasure is the ultimate measure of spiritual success and whose granting of devotion confirms His sovereignty and compassion.
