Prahlada’s Defeat in Battle and Victory through Bhakti (Nara-Narayana Episode)

Power is ultimately bounded by dharma and divine order: even extended effort across ‘divine years’ does not guarantee victory. The verse also implies that proximity to the divine (fighting ‘with Nārāyaṇa’) is not merely instrumental but tested over time.
Vamśānucarita/Carita: continuing the conflict narrative involving Daityas and Devas, now explicitly referencing Nārāyaṇa’s participation/association.
‘A thousand divine years’ signals the cosmic scale of moral struggle; the non-victory of the Daitya underscores the Purāṇic theme that adharma cannot secure final triumph, regardless of duration or apparent support.
