Paingala Upanishad 2 — Verse 2

स होवाच याज्ञवल्क्यः—अमानित्वादिसम्पन्नो मुमुक्षुरेकविंशतिकुलं तारयति। ब्रह्मविन्मात्रेण कुलमेकोत्तरशतं तारयति ॥२॥

सः । ह । उवाच । याज्ञवल्क्यः । अमानित्व-आदि-सम्पन्नः । मुमुक्षुः । एक-विंशति-कुलम् । तारयति । ब्रह्म-वित्-मात्रेण । कुलम् । एक-उत्तर-शतम् । तारयति ॥२॥

sa hovāca yājñavalkyaḥ—amānitvādisaṃpanno mumukṣur ekaviṃśatikulaṃ tārayati | brahmavinmātreṇa kulam ekottaraśataṃ tārayati ||2||

Yājñavalkya đáp: “Người cầu giải thoát, đầy đủ khiêm cung và các đức hạnh tương tự, có thể độ thoát hai mươi mốt đời trong dòng tộc. Chỉ do là bậc tri Brahman, người ấy độ thoát một trăm lẻ một đời của gia tộc.”

Yājñavalkya said: “A seeker of liberation endowed with humility and the like delivers twenty-one generations (of his family-line). By the mere fact of being a knower of Brahman, one delivers one hundred and one generations of the family.”
