Śravaṇa–Kīrtana–Manana: Definitions and Hierarchy of Śaiva Sādhanā (श्रवणकीर्तनमनन-निरूपणम्)
मुक्तिसाधनकं ज्ञानं नोदेति परमाद्भुतम् । तपश्चरामि मुक्त्यर्थं न जाने तत्र कारणम्
muktisādhanakaṃ jñānaṃ nodeti paramādbhutam | tapaścarāmi muktyarthaṃ na jāne tatra kāraṇam
Tri kiến kỳ diệu—phương tiện trực tiếp đưa đến giải thoát—không khởi lên trong con. Dẫu con tu khổ hạnh vì mokṣa, con vẫn chẳng hiểu nguyên nhân vì sao như vậy.

It highlights that austerity alone may not generate liberation-giving jñāna; in Shaiva thought, true awakening arises when Shiva’s grace removes inner bondage and the seeker gains right understanding and devotion.
In the Vidyeśvara context, the obstacle to jñāna is resolved through proper Shiva-upāsanā—Linga worship, mantra, and surrender—by which the mind becomes purified and fit for Shiva’s revealing grace.
The implied remedy is disciplined Shiva worship: japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with purity, along with traditional aids like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and focused meditation on Shiva as Pati, the giver of moksha.
