Śravaṇa–Kīrtana–Manana: Definitions and Hierarchy of Śaiva Sādhanā (श्रवणकीर्तनमनन-निरूपणम्)
सनत्कुमार उवाच । सत्यं वस्तु मुने दध्याः साक्षात्करणगोचरः । स शिवोथासहायोत्र तपश्चरसि किं कृते
sanatkumāra uvāca | satyaṃ vastu mune dadhyāḥ sākṣātkaraṇagocaraḥ | sa śivothāsahāyotra tapaścarasi kiṃ kṛte
Sanatkumāra nói: “Hỡi bậc hiền triết, Chân Thực quả là điều có thể nắm bắt như đối tượng chứng ngộ trực tiếp. Ngay tại đây, chính Śiva hiện diện làm trợ duyên cho ngài—vậy ngài tu khổ hạnh vì mục đích gì?”

It teaches that Śiva is not merely a distant deity but the directly realizable Supreme Reality (Pati), attainable through immediate spiritual insight supported by His grace—so mere hardship without right realization is incomplete.
By affirming Śiva’s nearness as a “helper,” it supports Saguna worship (such as Liṅga-pūjā) as a practical doorway to direct realization, where the symbol leads the devotee to experiential knowledge of Śiva.
