The verse emphasizes vidhivat-kriyā—acting according to sacred injunctions—showing that dharmic order and purity of intention prepare the mind for devotion to Pati (Śiva) and steady progress toward liberation.
Though it narrates a marriage rite, it reflects the Shaiva principle that worldly duties, when performed as prescribed and with reverence, become supportive (anukūla) to Saguna Śiva-bhakti and temple-centered ritual culture.
The practical takeaway is adherence to vidhi and śauca (purity): perform duties with mantra, discipline, and reverence—qualities also central to Shiva worship with japa (e.g., Pañcākṣarī) and regular observances.
