The verse defines the marks of an authentic Śaiva: prosperity used for generosity, refinement of character, and constant engagement in Śiva-sevā. In Shaiva Siddhanta, such virtues purify the pashu (individual soul) and loosen pāśa (bondage), making devotion fruitful.
By praising one who is “ever engaged in Śiva’s works,” it points to Saguna Śiva worship expressed through concrete acts—temple service, Linga-pūjā, support of Shaiva worship, and care for devotees—rather than mere verbal devotion.
The practical takeaway is Shiva-karma: daily puja or service, dana to support worship and devotees, and steady Shaiva discipline (e.g., japa of the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” alongside a life of courtesy and ethical conduct).
