आवरणपूजावर्णनम् (Āvaraṇa-pūjā-varṇanam) — Description of Enclosure/Layered Worship
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Encodes the key Siddhāntic move: samarpana (offering-back) of all acts to Śambhu, converting karma into worship and opening the devotee to grace.
Mantra: tatsarvaṃ bhagavañchambho bhavadārādhanamparam
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that the inner intention—dedicating everything as Śiva’s worship—is primary; the spoken resolve sanctifies the act, aligning the devotee (paśu) toward the Lord (Pati) through bhakti.
It supports saguna-upāsanā: tangible offerings like conch-water and flowers are presented to Bhagavān Śambhu (often as the Liṅga), while the declaration of devotion makes the external rite an inward act of surrender.
Perform a simple Śiva-pūjā by offering śaṃkha-jala (water from a conch) with flowers, while verbally or mentally dedicating the offering solely to Śiva’s ārādhana.
