Kumbhakarna’s sortie and Angada’s rallying of the Vanaras

Observing that rakshasa with frightening eyes, who could not be killed by Indra or Yama or even by Varuna coming towards them the vanaras ran in fear.
Dharma is tested under fear: even strong allies may falter, creating the need for moral leadership to restore courage.
Kumbhakarṇa’s terrifying approach causes a rout among the Vānaras.
The verse highlights the absence of steadiness (dhṛti) in the troops—setting up Aṅgada’s later rallying role.
