सीतासान्त्वनम् / Hanuman Consoles Sita with the News of Victory
क्लिश्यन्तीम् पतिदेवांत्वामशोकवनिकांगताम् ।।6.116.31।।घोररूपसमाचाराःक्रूराःक्रूरतरेक्षणाः ।इहश्रुतामयादेवि राक्षस्योविकृताननाः ।।6.116.32।।असकृत्परुषैर्वाक्यैर्वद्नत्योरावणाज्ञया ।
kliśyantīm patidevāṃ tvām aśokavanikāṃ gatām ||6.116.31||
ghorarūpasamācārāḥ krūrāḥ krūratarekṣaṇāḥ |
iha śrutā mayā devi rākṣasyo vikṛtānanāḥ ||6.116.32||
asakṛt paruṣair vākyair vadantyo rāvaṇājñayā ||
Ô phu nhân, con đã nghe tại đây về những rākṣasī mặt mũi dị dạng—hành vi tàn ác, hình tướng ghê rợn, ánh mắt hung dữ—đã nhiều lần, theo lệnh Rāvaṇa, buông lời thô bạo; trong khi nàng, bậc trinh phụ một lòng thờ chồng, đang chịu khổ nơi vườn Aśoka.
"I desire to kill all those Rakshasas who in the past have intimidated you indeed and whoever threatened you."
Dharma rejects cruelty and abuse of authority: Rāvaṇa’s command leads to repeated verbal violence, which is morally condemned by being explicitly remembered and named.
Hanumān recounts what he witnessed/heard in the Aśoka grove—Sītā’s torment and the rākṣasīs’ harsh speech under Rāvaṇa’s orders.
Hanumān’s empathy and moral indignation on behalf of Sītā, alongside his commitment to truthful testimony (satya).
