अन्याः पुनर्हर्म्यतलोपविष्टा स्तत्र प्रियाङ्केषु सुखोपविष्टाः।भर्तुः प्रिया धर्मपरा निविष्टा ददर्श धीमान् मदनाभिविष्टाः।।5.5.19।।
anyāḥ punar harmya-talopaviṣṭāḥ statra priyāṅkeṣu sukhopaviṣṭāḥ | bhartuḥ priyā dharma-parā niviṣṭā dadarśa dhīmān madanābhiviṣṭāḥ ||5.5.19||
Lại nữa, Hanumān trí tuệ thấy những người khác ngồi trên sân thượng lầu đài, an vui tựa trong lòng người thương—những hiền thê kính yêu chồng, giữ đạo, chìm đắm trong ái tình và bị dục vọng cuốn tràn.
While moving forward, Hanuman saw the Moon spreading his light, thereby warding off the agony of all creatures, causing the swelling of the ocean and illuminating the earth as well as the sky.
The verse juxtaposes kāma (desire) with dharma: even amid passion, the women are described as ‘devoted to their husbands,’ hinting at the Ramāyaṇa’s recurring concern with rightful bonds and social duty.
Hanumān continues searching the palatial quarters of Laṅkā, noticing couples on terraces, yet still scanning for Sītā.
Discernment (viveka): Hanumān observes intimate scenes without losing focus on his mission or slipping into distraction.
