अभिज्ञानमणि
प्रदानम् — The Signet Jewel as Proof and the Consolation of Sita
नास्मिंश्चिरं वत्स्यसि देवि देशे रक्षोगणैरध्युषितेऽतिरौद्रे।न ते चिरादामगमनं प्रियस्य क्षमस्व मत्सङ्गमकालमात्रम्।।।।
nāsmiṁś ciraṁ vatsyasi devi deśe rakṣogaṇair adhyuṣite ’tiraudre | na te cirād āgamanam priyasya kṣamasva mat-saṅgama-kāla-mātram ||
Hỡi phu nhân, nàng sẽ chẳng ở lâu nơi xứ sở này—nơi bầy rākṣasa cư trú, hung hiểm vô cùng. Chẳng bao lâu nữa, người yêu dấu của nàng sẽ đến; xin thứ lỗi cho ta vì cuộc tương phùng chỉ trong khoảnh khắc.
"O noble lady! You will not stay longer in this country, which is a strong hold of hosts of demons and a dreadful place It will not be very long before you unite with your beloved. Pray, have patience till then.ityārṣē śrīmadrāmāyaṇē vālmīkīya ādikāvyē sundarakāṇḍē ēkōnacatvāriṅśassargaḥ৷৷Thus ends the thirtyninth sarga of Sundarakanda of the holy Ramayana, the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.
Dharma is patient endurance supported by truthful hope: Hanumān urges Sītā to hold fast, promising that justice will soon restore rightful union.
As Hanumān prepares to leave, he gives Sītā final reassurance that her captivity will end soon and asks pardon for departing.
Hanumān’s courtesy and empathy, and Sītā’s required virtue of steadfast patience in adversity.
