Hanuman Enters Lanka and Encounters Laṅkā-devatā
स लम्बशिखरे लम्बे लम्बतोयदसन्निभे।सत्त्वमास्थाय मेधावी हनुमान् मारुतात्मजः।।5.3.1।।निशि लङ्कां महासत्त्वो विवेश कपिकुञ्जरः।रम्यकाननतोयाढ्यां पुरीं रावणपालिताम्।।5.3.2।।
sa lambaśikhare lambe lambatoyadasannibhe | sattvam āsthāya medhāvī hanumān mārutātmajaḥ ||
niśi laṅkāṃ mahāsattvo viveśa kapikuñjaraḥ | ramyakānanatoyāḍhyāṃ purīṃ rāvaṇapālitām ||
Trên đỉnh Lamba cao vút, tựa áng mây mưa rủ xuống, Hánumān—bậc trí giả, con của Thần Gió—lấy dũng lực làm chỗ nương, rồi trong đêm tiến vào Laṅkā, kinh thành do Rāvaṇa cai trị, phong phú những rừng đẹp, lùm cây và nguồn nước trong lành.
The mighty son of the Windgod, intelligent Hanuman, an elephant among vanaras, standing on the peak of the Lamba which looked like a high rainbearing cloud and relying on his energy, entered by night the city of Lanka, ruled by Ravana rich in delightful forests, groves and water pools.
