समुद्रलङ्घनारम्भः
Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
एवमुक्तः सुरसया प्राञ्जलिर्वानरर्षभः।प्रहृष्टवदनः श्रीमानिदं वचनमब्रवीत्।।।।
evam uktaḥ surasayā prāñjalir vānararṣabhaḥ | prahṛṣṭavadanaḥ śrīmān idaṁ vacanam abravīt ||
Được Surasā nói như vậy, Hánumān—bậc hiển quý, tối thượng trong loài Vānara—chắp tay cung kính, dung nhan an hòa rạng sáng, rồi thưa lời này.
Thus addressed by Surasa, the glorious Hanuman said this with a blooming face and folded hands:
Maryādā (righteous etiquette): even when threatened, one speaks with respect and self-control, upholding truth and propriety.
After Surasā demands that he enter her mouth, Hanuman prepares to answer—politely and without panic.
Humility with courage: Hanuman combines reverence (folded hands) with unwavering resolve.
