किष्किन्धाप्रवेशः—लक्ष्मणस्य कोपः, तारासान्त्वम्, सुग्रीवदर्शनम्

Lakshmana Enters Kishkindha: Anger, Tara’s Mediation, and Sugriva Encountered

न कामतन्त्रे तव बुद्धिरस्तित्वं वै यथा मन्युवशं प्रपन्नः।न देशकालौ हि न चार्थधर्माववेक्षते कामरतिर्मनुष्यः।।।।

na kāmatantrē tava buddhir asti tvaṁ vai yathā manyuvaśaṁ prapannaḥ |

na dēśakālau hi na cārthadharmāv avēkṣatē kāmaratir manuṣyaḥ ||

Trí ngươi không bị dục tình chi phối; thật ra ngươi đang rơi vào quyền lực của cơn giận. Vì kẻ đắm trong khoái lạc ái dục thì chẳng xét nơi chốn, thời điểm, cũng chẳng cân nhắc artha (lợi ích thiết thực) và dharma (chánh pháp, bổn phận).

'You are under the grip of anger and your mind is not involved in carnal desire. One who is engaged in sensual pleasures does not reckon time and place, nor does he consider artha and dharma.
