द्वितीयः सर्गः (Sarga 2): Sugriva’s Alarm and Hanuman’s Commission
ततस्सुग्रीवसचिवा दृष्ट्वा परमधन्विनौ।जग्मुर्गिरितटात्तस्मादन्यच्छिखरमुत्तमम्।।
tatas sugrīvasacivā dṛṣṭvā paramadhanvinau | jagmur giritaṭāt tasmād anyacchikharam uttamam ||
Bấy giờ các cận thần của Sugrīva, thấy hai bậc cung thủ tuyệt luân, liền rời sườn núi ấy và đi đến một đỉnh núi khác, thượng hảo.
Hanuman, the venerable, powerful and not easily conquerable monkey, honoured the words of the great Lord of the monkeys, offered salutations and said 'So be it'. And then proceeded towards the mighty Rama and Lakshmana.ityārṣē śrīmadrāmāyaṇē vālmīkīya ādikāvyē kiṣkindhākāṇḍē dvitīyassargaḥ৷৷Thus ends the second sarga of Kishkindakanda of the Holy Ramayana, the first epic composed by the sage Valmiki.
Strategic retreat can be dharmic when it prevents rash conflict and creates space for wiser engagement.
Sugrīva’s counsellors reposition themselves upon seeing Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa, reflecting caution amid uncertainty.
