Bấy giờ, Vāli—kẻ phẫn nộ với em mình—đang ở trong nội cung, liền nghe tiếng gầm vang ấy của Sugrīva, bậc đại hồn.
The indignant Vali, who was in the harem, heard the roaring of his venerable brother, Sugriva.
Unchecked anger (krodha) and resentment distort judgment; dharma requires inner restraint before responding to provocation.
Sugrīva’s challenge is heard by Vāli inside the palace quarters, setting the stage for Vāli’s reaction.
By contrast, the verse highlights the danger of lacking forbearance; Vāli is portrayed as indignant toward his brother.
