पितृमरणश्रवणं जलक्रिया च
Hearing of Daśaratha’s death and the libation rites at Mandākinī
एतत्ते राजशार्दूल विमलं तोयमक्षयम्।पितृलोकगत स्याद्य मद्दत्तमुपतिष्ठतु।।।।
etat te rājaśārdūla vimalaṃ toyam akṣayam | pitṛlokagatasya adya maddattam upatiṣṭhatu ||
“Hỡi bậc hùng sư giữa các quân vương, nay người đã về cõi tổ tiên; nguyện phần nước trong sạch, không cùng tận này, do con dâng hôm nay, được đến phụng sự người.”
'O best of kings, you are gone to the world of the manes, and let this inexhaustible libation of pure water reach you'.
Dharma as gratitude and continuity: even after death, a parent is honored through rites and truthful remembrance; duty does not end with separation.
During the libation (tarpana), Rāma directly dedicates the offering to Daśaratha, acknowledging his passage to Pitṛloka.
