मारीचेन तु विज्ञाय स्वरमालम्ब्य मामकम्।विक्रुष्टं मृगरूपेण लक्ष्मणश्शृणुयाद्यदि।।।।स सौमित्रिस्स्वरं श्रुत्वा तां च हित्वाच मैथिलीम्।तयेह प्रहितः क्षिप्रं मत्सकाशमिहैष्यति।।।।
mārīcena tu vijñāya svaram ālambya māmakam | vikruṣṭaṃ mṛgarūpeṇa lakṣmaṇaḥ śṛṇuyād yadi ||
Nếu Lakṣmaṇa nghe Mā rīca—đã hiểu mưu kế, mang hình nai mà bắt chước tiếng ta—kêu gào thảm thiết,
'If Lakshmana listens to Maricha imitating my voice in the form of a deer, he, sent by Sita will come for me at once, leaving her behind.
It highlights discernment (viveka) as part of dharma: the righteous must recognize that adharma often works through deception and misdirection.
Rāma foresees the trick: Mā rīca will cry out in Rāma’s voice while appearing as a deer, to manipulate Lakṣmaṇa’s response.
Prudence and situational awareness—Rāma mentally reconstructs the enemy’s strategy.
