उत्पातदर्शनं खरसैन्यसमागमश्च
Omens of calamity and the approach of Khara’s army
दुष्प्रेक्ष्यस्सोऽभवत्कृद्धो युगान्ताग्निरिव ज्वलन्।तं दृष्ट्वा तेजसाविष्टं प्राद्रवन्वनदेवताः।।।।
duṣprekṣyaḥ so 'bhavat kruddho yugāntāgnir iva jvalan | taṃ dṛṣṭvā tejasāviṣṭaṃ prādravan vanadevatāḥ ||
Trong cơn thịnh nộ, Ngài trở nên khó bề nhìn thẳng, rực cháy như lửa kiếp tận; thấy Ngài tràn đầy quang uy, ngay cả các thần linh của rừng cũng vội vã chạy trốn.
Rama stood burning in anger like the fire of the doom's day. It was difficult even to look at him. Seeing him full of glow even the sylvan deities ran away.
Dharma’s protective force can appear terrifying: righteous punishment (daṇḍa) is portrayed as awe-inspiring, meant to restrain adharma.
Rama’s battle-fury manifests so powerfully that the very beings of the forest retreat in alarm.
Majesty and moral authority—Rama’s tejas (spiritual-heroic radiance) that subdues evil.
