पञ्चाप्सरो-सरः कथनम् तथा अगस्त्याश्रममार्गनिर्देशः
Panchapsara Lake Account and Directions to Agastya
अस्माकं कस्यचित् स्थानमेष प्रार्थयते मुनिः।।।।इति संविग्नमनसस्सर्वे ते त्रिदिवौकसः।
asmākaṃ kasyacit sthānam eṣa prārthayate muniḥ |
iti saṃvignamanasaḥ sarve te tridivaukasaḥ ||
Nghĩ rằng: “Vị hiền giả này đang cầu xin một chỗ thuộc về chúng ta,” tất cả chư thiên—những bậc cư ngụ cõi trời—đều lòng dạ bất an, tâm trí xao động.
'The gods of heaven became agitated in their minds thinking the sage might usurp one of their places.
A warning against insecurity and possessiveness: even the gods become troubled by fear of losing status, showing how attachment can disturb inner steadiness (dharma of mental equanimity).
The heavenly beings interpret the sage’s prayer as a claim upon a divine ‘place’ in heaven and react with anxiety.
By contrast (implicitly), the virtue of inner composure is highlighted: agitation (saṃvigna-manas) is shown as a failing even among powerful beings.
