Gaṅgā-māhātmya
Narada (teaching in a tirtha/phala narrative frame; traditionally conveyed to Sanatkumara in dialogic flow)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
The verse states a phala (result): righteous merit connected with the chapter’s dharmic/tirtha context elevates a person to Brahmaloka, where he is honored along with his ancestors—showing that one’s spiritual merit can uplift the pitṛ-lineage as well.
Though not explicitly naming Viṣṇu-bhakti here, it reflects a common Purāṇic principle: dharma performed with faith (śraddhā)—often including worship, vows, and tīrtha-sevā—yields exalted lokas and becomes beneficial to one’s family line, aligning with devotional intent and selfless offering.
It implies proper application of ritual dharma aimed at pitṛ-satisfaction (tarpaṇa/śrāddha framework). The practical takeaway aligns with Kalpa (ritual procedure) rather than technical Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa in this specific verse.
