The Account of Mohinī (Mohinī-kathanam): Ekādaśī Nirṇaya, Daśamī Boundary, and Aruṇodaya
Narada (teaching vrata-vidhi within a tirtha/mahātmya-oriented discourse)
Vrata: Ekādaśī (context: fasting and pāraṇa)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It frames fasting discipline as divinely regulated by Hari: the merit of upavāsa is protected when pāraṇa is done at the proper sacred time (sunrise), aligning personal practice with cosmic order.
By attributing the rule of pāraṇa to Hari, the verse turns ritual timing into an act of obedience and remembrance of Vishnu—bhakti expressed through precise vrata observance rather than mere austerity.
Kalpa (ritual procedure) and Jyotiṣa-based tithi/time reckoning are implied: sunrise timing and the trayodaśī tithi govern when pāraṇa should be performed to avoid defects in the vow.
