It elevates satya (truthfulness) and steadfastness as core dharma: spiritual progress depends on honoring one’s pledged word, especially in sacred duties and vowed observances.
Bhakti is sustained by niṣṭhā (firm commitment). By insisting on unwavering adherence to a given word, the verse highlights the devotional discipline of following injunctions and promises made in worship and service.
It reflects kalpa-oriented practicality: the reliability required to perform prescribed rites and vratas correctly, without deviation from the stated saṃvid (stipulated rule/commitment).
