किमेतन्नाभिजानामि जानन्नपि महामते ।

यत्प्रेमप्रवणं चित्तं विगुणेष्वपि बन्धुषु ॥

kim etan nābhijānāmi jānann api mahā-mate |

yat prema-pravaṇaṃ cittaṃ viguṇeṣv api bandhuṣu ||

“Ô bậc đại tâm, điều gì là điều tôi không thật hiểu, dẫu tôi biết nhiều—rằng tâm lại nghiêng về tình thương ngay cả đối với thân quyến thiếu đức hạnh?”
