Adhyaya 77 — Sanjna’s Withdrawal from Surya: The Birth of Yama and Yamuna, and the Emergence of Chhaya
मयि दृष्टे सदा यस्मात् कुरुषे नेत्रसंयमम् ।
तस्माज्जनिष्यसे मूढे प्रजासंयमनं यमम् ॥
mayi dṛṣṭe sadā yasmāt kuruṣe netrasaṃyamam / tasmājjaniṣyase mūḍhe prajāsaṃyamanaṃ yamam
Vì mỗi khi nàng nhìn ta, nàng cứ luôn kìm giữ và hạ thấp ánh mắt; bởi vậy, hỡi kẻ ngu si, nàng sẽ sinh ra Yama—đấng chế ngự và cai quản muôn loài hữu tình.
