Adhyaya 23 — Ashvatara’s Vow for Madalasa and the Bestowal of Musical Science by Sarasvati
आरभेत नरः कर्म स्वपौरुषमहापयन् ।
निष्पत्तिः कर्मणो दैवे पौरुषे च व्यवस्थिताः ॥
ārabheta naraḥ karma sva-pauruṣam ahāpayan | niṣpattiḥ karmaṇo daive pauruṣe ca vyavasthitā ||
“Con người nên khởi sự hành động, không từ bỏ sự gắng sức của chính mình. Sự thành tựu của một việc được xác lập bởi cả định mệnh (daiva) lẫn nỗ lực của con người (pauruṣa).”
