इमौ च बाणौ सहितौ पादयोरमे व्यवस्थितौ । अपरोौ चाप्यतिक्रान्तौ कर्णो संस्पृश्य मे शरौ,ये दो बाण एक साथ आकर मेरे पैरोंके आगे गिरे हैं और दूसरे दो बाण मेरे दोनों कानोंको छूकर निकल गये हैं
imau ca bāṇau sahitau pādayor me vyavasthitau | aparau cāpyatikrāntau karṇau saṃspṛśya me śarau ||
Droṇa nói: “Hai mũi tên này đến cùng một lúc và đã dừng lại ngay trước chân ta; còn hai mũi khác chỉ sượt qua tai ta rồi bay tiếp.” Theo đạo lý của chiến binh, lời nói ấy là sự thẩm định sắc bén về độ chính xác và sự tiết chế của đối thủ—sức mạnh được phô bày mà không gây tổn hại thừa, như thể đang thử tay nghề và ý chí chứ chưa vội tìm giết ngay.
