Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 33 — Kuru Cattle-Raid and Matsya Mobilization (भूमिंजय-प्रेरणा)
bhīmasena uvāca | aham enaṃ paritrāsye śāsanāt tava pārthiva | paśya me sumahat karma yudhyataḥ saha śatrubhiḥ ||
The verse highlights dharma in action: a warrior’s strength is ethically directed toward protection and rescue, carried out with disciplined obedience to a legitimate command rather than personal impulse.
Bhīma addresses King Virāṭa, promising—on the king’s order—to free the captive (implied) from Suśarmā’s control, and invites the king to witness his great martial exploit amid the ongoing conflict with the enemies.
