Virāṭa’s Mobilization to Recover the Cattle
The verse highlights the ethics of counsel in royal decision-making: a proposal for action (yātrā) is framed as a considered opinion (matā) and offered conditionally—“if it pleases you”—signaling that power should be guided by deliberation and consent rather than impulse.
Vaiśampāyana reports a recommendation that, in the present situation, an expedition should be undertaken, involving all the Kaurava warriors and also Karṇa, indicating mobilization and coordinated action under Kaurava leadership.
