श्मशानाभिमुख: प्रायाद् यत्र ते कीचका गता: । स लड्घयित्वा प्राकारं नि:सृत्य च पुरोत्तमात् | जवेन पतितो भीम: सूतानामग्रतस्तदा,तत्पश्चात् वे उपकीचक जिधर गये थे, उसी ओर भीमसेन भी श्मशानभूमिकी दिशामें चल दिये। चहारदीवारी लाँघनेके पश्चात् उस श्रेष्ठ नगरसे निकलकर भीमसेन इतने वेगसे चले कि सूतपुत्रोंसे पहले ही वहाँ पहुँच गये
śmaśānābhimukhaḥ prāyād yatra te kīcakā gatāḥ | sa laṅghayitvā prākāraṃ niḥsṛtya ca purottamāt | javena patito bhīmaḥ sūtānām agratas tadā ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Bhīma hướng về bãi hỏa táng, đúng theo con đường bọn Kīcaka đã đi. Nhảy qua tường thành và lẩn ra khỏi thành trì trác tuyệt ấy, ông lao đi nhanh đến mức tới nơi trước cả bọn con trai của những người đánh xe.
