Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 22 — Draupadī’s Abduction Attempt and Bhīma’s Suppression of the Kīcakas

Educational Q&A

Power is shown not only in striking but in restraining: Bhīma uses controlled force to immobilize a weakened adversary, prioritizing safety and preventing further wrongdoing.

Seeing the opponent utterly exhausted, Bhīma (Vṛkodara) grips and binds him with his arms, likened to tying an animal with a rope—an image emphasizing firm capture and complete control.
