Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the sanctity of tīrthas through the memory of great sages: a place becomes ethically and spiritually significant because exemplary ancestors practiced tapas there, encouraging reverence, self-discipline, and dharmic conduct.

The speaker identifies a particular pilgrimage site—Dīptoda—and explains its fame by recounting that Bhṛgu, an ancestor of Rāma, performed supreme austerities there in the ancient divine age.
