सप्तमेडब्दे गते चापि प्राच्यवत् स महाकवि: । ज्वलन्निव प्रभावेण दृढस्युर्नाम भारत,भारत! सात वर्ष बीतनेपर अपने तेज और प्रभावसे प्रज्वलित होता हुआ वह गर्भ उदरसे बाहर निकला। वही महादिद्दान् दृढस्युके नामसे विख्यात हुआ
saptame ’bde gate cāpi prācyavat sa mahākaviḥ | jvalann iva prabhāveṇa dṛḍhasyur nāma bhārata ||
Khi năm thứ bảy cũng đã trôi qua, bậc đại thi nhân ấy—rực sáng bởi uy lực và vinh quang như thể đang bừng cháy—đã ra khỏi bụng mẹ theo lối của người xưa. Hỡi Bhārata, người ấy trở nên lừng danh với tên gọi Dṛḍhasyu.
