Pulastya tuyên bố: “Người nào tắm tại Koṭitīrtha sẽ được công đức tương đương với quả báo của việc bố thí một nghìn con bò.”
पुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse teaches that sincere observance of a sacred bath at a recognized tīrtha can yield great spiritual merit, here equated with the highly valued charitable act of donating a thousand cows—highlighting both the sanctity of tīrthas and the ethical ideal of generosity.
Pulastya is describing the merits (phala-śruti) of specific pilgrimage sites in the Vana Parva’s tīrtha-yātrā context, stating that bathing at Koṭitīrtha grants the fruit of a thousand-cow gift.
