स्नाति तीर्थेषु कौरव्य न च वक्रमतिर्नर: | त्वया तु सम्यग्वृत्तेन नित्यं धर्मार्थदर्शिना

Transliteration

snāti tīrtheṣu kauravya na ca vakramatir naraḥ | tvayā tu samyagvṛttena nityaṁ dharmārthadarśinā

Translation

Pulastya nói: “Hỡi hậu duệ dòng Kuru, con người có thể tắm ở các bến thiêng (tīrtha), nhưng tâm trí quanh co của họ không vì thế mà rời bỏ. Còn nơi ngươi—vì hạnh kiểm thật sự ngay thẳng và vì ngươi luôn phân biệt điều phải (dharma) cùng điều lợi ích (artha)—mục đích thanh tịnh được thành tựu bởi đức hạnh chứ không chỉ bởi nghi lễ.”
