Śiva Grants the Pāśupata Astra (Pāśupata-Śastra Upadeśa) | शिवेन पाशुपतास्त्रदानम्

ततो जलधरश्यामो वरुणो यादसां पति: । पश्चिमां दिशमास्थाय गिरमुच्चारयन्‌ प्रभु:,इसके बाद जल-जन्तुओंके स्वामी मेघके समान श्यामकान्तिवाले प्रभावशाली वरुण पश्चिम दिशामें खड़े हो इस प्रकार बोले--

tato jaladharaśyāmo varuṇo yādasāṃ patiḥ | paścimāṃ diśam āsthāya giram uccārayan prabhuḥ ||

Bấy giờ Varuṇa—đen sẫm như mây mưa, bậc hùng uy, chúa tể các loài thủy tộc—đứng quay về phương Tây và, với uy quyền của bậc chủ tể, cất lời.
