स सूतो भार्यया सार्थ विम्मयोत्फुल्ललोचन: । अड्कमारोप्य तं बालं भारया वचनमब्रवीत्,उसे देखकर पत्नीसहित सूतके नेत्रकमल आश्चर्य एवं प्रसन्नतासे खिल उठे। उसने बालकको गोदमें लेकर अपनी पत्नीसे कहा--
sa sūto bhāryayā sārthaṁ vismayotphullalocanaḥ | aṅkam āropya taṁ bālaṁ bhāryāyā vacanam abravīt ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Người đánh xe, đi cùng vợ, vừa thấy đứa trẻ thì đôi mắt như hoa sen của ông mở to vì kinh ngạc và mừng rỡ. Ông bế nó đặt lên đùi, rồi nói với vợ—lời nói thấm đẫm nỗi sửng sốt và cảm giác trách nhiệm vừa bừng dậy trước đứa trẻ bơ vơ.
