Ajñātavāsa-saṅkalpaḥ — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Resolve and Dhaumya’s Exempla on Concealment
विश्रान्तोडसि महाभाग विनिद्रश्न नृपात्मज । यदि शकक््यं समुन्तिष्ठ विगाढां पश्य शर्वरीम्,महाभाग! आपने विश्राम कर लिया। राजकुमार! अब आपकी नींद भी टूट चुकी है। यदि शक्ति हो तो उठिये; देखिये, प्रगाढ़ अन्धकारसे युक्त रात्रि हो गयी है
viśrānto 'si mahābhāga vinidrāś ca nṛpātmaja | yadi śakyaṃ samuttiṣṭha vigāḍhāṃ paśya śarvarīm ||
Diêm Vương nói: “Hỡi hoàng tử phúc đức, ngươi đã nghỉ ngơi, và giấc ngủ cũng đã qua. Nếu còn đủ sức, hãy đứng dậy ngay và nhìn xem—đêm đã xuống sâu, tối đặc mịt mùng.”
यम उवाच
The verse urges timely wakefulness and readiness: after rest, one should rise when capable and face the situation as it is, even when conditions are difficult (symbolized by the deep, dark night).
Yama addresses a prince, noting that he has rested and awakened, and instructs him to get up if he has the strength, pointing out that the night has become intensely dark—setting a serious, watchful mood for what follows.
