Dharma-pratyabhijñāna and Vara-pradāna (धर्मप्रत्यभिज्ञानम्—वरप्रदानम्)
अनुव्रजन्ती भर्तारें जगाम मृदुगामिनी । द्विधेव हृदयं कृत्वा तं च कालमवेक्षती,मन्दगतिसे चलनेवाली सावित्री मानो अपने हृदयके दो भाग करके एकसे अपने पतिका अनुसरण करती और दूसरेसे प्रतिक्षण उनके मृत्युकालकी प्रतीक्षा कर रही थी
anuvrajantī bhartāraṃ jagāma mṛdugāminī | dvidheva hṛdayaṃ kṛtvā taṃ ca kālam avekṣatī ||
Savitrī bước đi nhẹ nhàng, vẫn theo sát chồng. Tựa như nàng đã chia đôi trái tim mình—một nửa kiên trì đồng hành cùng chàng, nửa còn lại từng khoảnh khắc dõi chờ thời điểm tử vong đã được định sẵn.
