यक्षोपाख्यान-प्रवेशः

Entry into the Yakṣa-Lake Episode

नारद उवाच अहो बत महत्‌ पापं सावितन्र्या नृपते कृतम्‌ अजानन्त्या यदनया गुणवान्‌ सत्यवान्‌ वृतः,(यह सुनकर) नारदजी बोल उठे--अहो! यह बड़े खेदकी बात है। राजन! सावित्रीने बिना जाने ही अपना बड़ा अनिष्ट किया है, जो कि इसने सत्यवानको गुणवान्‌ समझकर वरण कर लिया है

nārada uvāca | aho bata mahat pāpaṃ sāvitr̥yā nr̥pate kr̥tam | ajānantyā yad anayā guṇavān satyavān vr̥taḥ ||

Nārada nói: “Than ôi! Tâu đại vương, đây là một sai lầm đau đớn mà Sāvitrī đã phạm. Không biết sự thật, nàng tự chuốc lấy tai họa lớn cho mình, vì đã chọn Satyavān, tưởng chàng là người đức hạnh.”
