Kuṇḍala–Kavaca Discourse
सम्पातिर्नाम तस्याहं ज्येष्ठो भ्राता खगाधिप: । अन्योन्यस्पर्धयारूढावावामादित्यसत्पदम्,“वह पक्षी हमें खा जानेकी युक्ति सोचने लगा। फिर हमारे पास आकर बोला--“अजी! कौन मेरे भाई जटायुकी बात कर रहा था। मैं उसका बड़ा भाई पक्षिराज सम्पाति हूँ। हम दोनों एक-दूसरेसे होड़ लगाकर आकाशमें सूर्यमण्डलतक पहुँचनेके लिये उड़े थे
Sampātir nāma tasyāhaṁ jyeṣṭho bhrātā khagādhipaḥ | anyonya-spardhayārūḍhāv āvām āditya-satpadam ||
“Ta tên là Sampāti, anh cả của vị chim vương ấy, chúa tể loài chim. Thuở nọ, vì ganh đua cùng nhau, hai chúng ta đã vút lên trời cao, tranh nhau đạt đến cõi rực sáng của Mặt Trời.”
