Sāvitrī’s Dialogue with Yama and the Restoration of Satyavān

सर्वभूतरुतज्ञा त्वं पश्य बुद्धया समन्विता । केन चाश्रयवान्‌ प्राप्तो ममैष भ्रातृगन्धिक:,'प्रिये! तुम समस्त प्राणियोंकी बोली समझती हो, साथ ही बुद्धिमती भी हो। अतः सोचो तो सही, यह मेरा नाममात्रका भाई किसका सहारा लेकर यहाँ आया है?”

Transliteration

sarvabhūtarutajñā tvaṁ paśya buddhyā samanvitā | kena cāśrayavān prāpto mamaiṣa bhrātṛgandhikaḥ ||

Translation

Mārkaṇḍeya nói: “Hỡi người yêu dấu, nàng hiểu được tiếng kêu và lời nói của muôn loài, lại có trí phân biệt. Vậy hãy suy xét cho kỹ: kẻ này—chỉ là huynh đệ của ta trên danh nghĩa—đã nương tựa vào ai mà đến được nơi đây?”
