वसतस्तस्य रामस्य तत: शूर्पणखाकृतम्‌ । खरेणासीन्महद्‌ वैरं जनस्थाननिवासिना

Transliteration

vasatas tasya rāmasya tataḥ śūrpaṇakhākṛtam | khareṇāsīn mahad vairaṁ janasthānanivāsinā ||

Translation

Khi Rama đang cư trú nơi ấy, vì việc đã làm với Śūrpaṇakhā (cắt mũi, tai và môi), mối thù lớn đã nảy sinh giữa chàng và Khara, tên rākṣasa cư ngụ tại Jana-sthāna.
