Even heavenly attainment (svarga) may be portrayed as having limitations or defects; the seeker should inquire beyond mere reward-based merit toward a truly faultless state or realm, implying a higher spiritual goal than heaven.
Muḍūgala responds to a prior description of the shortcomings of Svarga and asks the speaker to identify and explain an alternative realm or state that is genuinely free from defects.
