जो ब्राह्मण एकाग्रचित्त हो स्कन्ददेवके इस जन्मवृत्तान्तका पाठ करता है, वह संसारमें पुष्टिको प्राप्त हो अन्तमें भगवान् स्कन्दके लोकमें जाता है ।। इति श्रीमहाभारते वनपर्वणि मार्कण्डेयसमास्यापर्वणि आज्धिरसे स्कनन््दोत्पत्तौ महिषासुरवधे एकत्रिंशदधिकद्विशततमो<ध्याय:
yo brāhmaṇa ekāgracittaḥ san skandadevasya asya janma-vṛttāntasya pāṭhaṃ karoti, sa saṃsāre puṣṭiṃ prāpya ante bhagavataḥ skandasya loke gacchati.
Mārkaṇḍeya nói: “Bất cứ vị bà-la-môn nào, với tâm chuyên nhất không tán loạn, tụng đọc bản truyện về sự giáng sinh của Đức Skanda này, sẽ được an lạc và hưng thịnh ở đời; và rốt cuộc sẽ về cõi của Đức Skanda chí phúc.”
