वध्यमानं बल दृष्टवा बहुशस्तै: पुरंदर: । स सैन्यनायकार्थाय चिन्तामाप भृशं तदा,जब इन्द्रने देखा कि दानव बार-बार देवताओंकी सेनाका वध कर रहे हैं, तब उन्हें एक सुयोग्य सेनापतिकी आवश्यकता हुई। इसके लिये वे बहुत चिन्तित हुए

Transliteration

vadhyamānaṃ balaṃ dṛṣṭvā bahuśastaiḥ purandaraḥ | sa sainyanāyakārthāya cintām āpa bhṛśaṃ tadā ||

Translation

Thấy quân lực của mình bị chém giết liên tiếp bởi muôn thứ binh khí, Purandara (Indra) vô cùng bối rối. Khi ấy, ngài chìm vào suy tư sâu sắc, nhận ra nhu cầu cấp bách phải có một vị thống soái xứng đáng để chỉ huy đại quân.
